Male plug not connected to the cylinder
Fresh out of the box, the ram doesn't work. One of the two wires on the ram simply wasn't connected to the male plug. Carefully disassembling and reassembling the plug was a bit tedious. The plug's materials still seem quite fragile. It's not waterproof. I tinned both wires before reassembling it for a better connection. The question is, is this acceptable for a €1000 product?
For your information, this is the third ram (and the second electronic one) of this brand and type that I've used in 20 years on the same sailboat. The very first ram still works reasonably well (as a temporary fix), but its plug has been "dead" for a long time, burned out by UV rays! So the internal quality of this type of ram isn't the issue. This comment doesn't guarantee the effectiveness and lifespan of this new ram. Time will tell.
