the part actually didn't fit

yes, I was a bit surprised. Our old hook had broken during a mooring maneuver, so we ordered the replacement hook. It did fit into the aluminum tube, but the way it was attached had obviously changed. So I had to drill a hole in the side to attach the hook with a screw. It seems to hold, but I'm a bit skeptical; if the load gets too big, the screw will tear out. The hook itself works perfectly and we wouldn't give it back and would definitely replace it if it were damaged, despite the price.
