I am interested in this folding table model no 70160 to install on the outdoor flat deck of my Cal Cruising 46 sailboat Docked here in Marina del Rey California USA I have looked a this German web site with the impression that this item is also German made This triple folding table, was it made in China? How is it holding up outdoors in a harsh marine environment, sun moisture, salt etc There are many similar tables advertised on eBay, all made from Far East, China Indonesia etc My boat is heavily and strongly constructed. Here in California back in 1968 using all American parts and mainly European parts from Germany Belgium, Norway and England All have lasted til now and are fully functional, and have lasted the test of time Is this table European made? I can't respond regarding the country of manufacture but I can help with the quality and how it will stand up to the harsh conditions. It's supplied with no coating, ie raw timber finish leaving you to apply whatever you see fit. I used 4 coats of good quality varnish but we don't leave it erected in the cockpit to suffer UV and rain. A better finish we ow think would have been a 2 part lacquer which is much harder. I did remove the hinges before varnishing. The core is I believe plywood which is faced and edged with teak, the edges being about 1cm thick if I recall correctly. Overall, we're impressed just as our regular crew are, the smallest size is perfect for 4 people. We have compared it to others we've seen and would buy it again.
