I also put Seatec GTI 30 after put on 4layer Epoxy Epotec on my HANSE 370 boat. I also read that the colour of the antifouling first time is bronze colour and after 3-5 months goes to an antrhrazit graphite colour. Unfortunately my Seatec GTI 30 at opening was anthrazit colour , on the boat still anthrazit colour !!! I use before VC17M on my Jeanneau but first also looks bronze colour. Also the paint looks harder and thicker then the VC17m or VC17m Extra. I read the Seatec GTI 30 is also manufactured by International, why my Seatec GTI 30 not looks like as described by SVB????
Hi! It says there "Grey Graphite"... The last one I bought that was copper colour was back in the end of 2017, then changed to this colour. In the end, its the same final colour. But more important, the effectiveness. :-)
Can Plasmotec primer +GTI 30 be safely applied to Michigan Goldline (HTB1 manganese bronze) propellers and stainless driveshafts?
YES, by experience it can safely be applied to metals. However harmless to metal, primers for GPR won't stick properly to metal so the both primer and GTI 30 will soon disappear from propellers and shafts. The best solution for stainless and bronze alloys, after testing all sorts in the Baltics for more than 50 years: Remove old paint completely. Use an etching metals primer first, then apply a specific, for the purpose, antifouling. !! Method is Not tested on sterndrives !!
Can I use this over Hempel Ecopower racing?
Seatec doesn't give a lot of instructions on the tin, but since GTI properties are (close to) identical to VC17, I'd suggest to their guidance: "Conventional antifouling paints, removals is best but if this is not possible, start sanding with 80 grade (grit) paper and progressively sand with finer grades until the final sanding with 320 grade (grit). Remove sanding residue." I switched to GTI 30 to get the smooth, non layer building feature. Therefore had a complete removal of old antifouling (dry ice blasting) to get a perfect start, then Plasmotec primer and finally GTI. Very smooth result and so far kept the hull clean for two seasons (on land during winter). Boat is in the Baltic Ocean. I'll apply an new layer before next launch. Just personal experience., use it if you like.
I was using for years International VC17m for Balaton lake (sweet water). I have 2 questions: 1. Was that a right choice? 2. Is it possible to paint over with Seatec Gti30? Thanks for your answer

The Seatec does not change colour like the VC17. It is anthracit at applucation and stays like that. This was actually documented somewhere as a difference from VC. But it is normal, I've been using it for years without any problem.
SVB will have to answer for their product themselves but I can't remember seeing anywhere that they say GTi 30 is bronze on application? The PROPERTIES for VC17 and GTI 30 are close to identical and they are stated to by compatible in that you can add one on top of the other. The VC17 formula has changed over time, from thin as water to a heavier viscosity. In the beginning it dried immediately (like a permanent marker pen) but that was not easy to apply evenly. I believe (I do not have any proof) that the products build on the same technology. Probably supplied in some form to both brands by Voss in Hamburg. Using GTI 30 now in my 4th season, washed an reapplied every second year after spending the winter on the hard!
