Absolutely easy installation, standard connection 1/2 "can be connected with almost all pipe and hose systems, very usable insulation, very light ... But there must be something to complain about (?!): The dimensions for the mounting holes are not Would have been very helpful ... All in all, the highest possible rating!

Product details

The COMPACT series from SIGMAR marine offers innovative water heaters of 20 to 40 liters, developed specifically for use in recreational boating. The solid 1.5 mm thick stainless steel tank is argon gas-shielded welded. Due to their design, COMPACT boilers are particularly suitable for installation on flat surfaces/ bulkheads. They feature a thermostat and a safety/check valve. The water heater uses the excess heat produced by the engine cooling circuit, shore power supply or energy from a generator. Using excess heat is very economical: water is permanently heated and the excellent insulation of the boiler keeps it hot for a long time. Each boiler has an integrated safety valve which opens for protection from a pressure of 4 bar (58 psi). The hoses can be connected via ½" fittings/nozzles (the connection nozzles are not included).

Good heating performance, good insulation, so that even hot shower is possible even without shore current the next morning. Because the thread of the heating element of the previously built construction and type model was oxidized after 4 years and because of the price (why a stainless steel container with thermostat / dive plunger, plastic clothing so expensive?) Only 3 out of 5 stars. Why do not you buy another product? Replacement is always easier than installing and adapting a new system.

Electrical short circuit in the hot water boiler

The product I bought 2.5 years ago unfortunately only lasted 2.5 years and then suffered a short circuit - probably, as the electrician said, there was a very small water leak in the electrical installation that could not be repaired. After 2.5 years, I got nothing from SVB other than a 10% discount for the purchase of a new, exactly the same hot water boiler. Now I just hope that the second one lasts longer -(

A product can always be made cheaper and thus the quality can deteriorate!

I bought this 40l boiler and replaced it on my motor yacht with a defective one. I am dissatisfied and upset because of poor workmanship; the front cover protrudes 2cm from the body - thus the electrical system is unprotected; The 12 "pipe threads are not post-treated and razor sharp. Suspiciously light empty weight (!) - suggests a very thin stainless steel container. An exchange was not possible due to my time window! An acceptable goodwill was not offered and processed with a time delay. I have (have been) since Decades customer and have now drawn my conclusions!
