Product details

This compass was developed for the demanding needs of skippers and provides an absolutely accurate and stable compass reading and sturdy compass rose, regardless of the heeling angle. The extended compass pin in the middle prevents parallax errors, and the yellow, balanced lubber lines retain their positions, even in rough sea conditions. A compensator for heeling errors can also be added. The light is built into the adjustable protective housing.

Note: This compass is calibrated for use in the northern hemisphere. Please bear this in mind when using.

Ter vervanging van het oude Silva 125 kompas.
Gelukkig dezelfde montage gaten, bescherm kap sluit niet goed af, pakkingen tegen water insijpeling belachelijk dun (werkt in de praktijk dus ook niet goed), draad voor aansluiting van de nacht verlichting zo dun dat een goede aansluiting een uitdaging is. Je zou anders verwachten van een Zweeds kwaliteitsmerk.

It seems to me that the folding cover protecting the compass is not fixed. Something could be missing. The compass sealing was badly mounted so the screw holes does not fit. All in all, it is my impression that the compass was a second hand compass. I would prefer to return it, or better that you swap it with an entirely new. Would that be possible?
