MoonRay chargers start to charge the battery as soon as the voltage at the solar panel is 0.1 V higher than the battery voltage. This ensures maximum output during daily sunlight variations, even in very cloudy periods. Another advantage is the flat efficiency curve, so that even in changeable conditions, all the energy is always drawn from the modules and stored.
Furthermore, if you wish to install several solar panels, it is possible to combine multiple MoonRays. With the optional Bluetooth dongle and the free app, you can display all controllers in a single overview, but it is also possible to display only the data of one specific controller.
The charge controllers are fully configurable and most settings can be done via the integrated LCD display. This allows you to set charging characteristics for lead-acid and gel batteries via the built-in display. However, to be able to set charging profiles for AGM and lithium batteries, either the optional display or the app is required. The optional Bluetooth dongle is required to use the app.
