With this VICTRON Argo diode-battery combiner, two 12 or 24 V DC sources (e.g. batteries) can be used in parallel, e.g. to supply electrical loads from several DC sources without interruption.
The battery combiner has two inputs and one, combined, output. It features two Schottky diodes that only allow current to flow from the respective input to the combined output. The diodes prevent reverse current from the output to the inputs as well as from input to input. Because Schottky diodes are used, the voltage loss common with diodes remains very low, ranging between 0.3 and 0.45 V.
Technical specifications
Voltage: 12 or 24 V DC
Maximum continuous current: 40 A
Number of (battery) inputs: 2
Connections: 3x M6 bolts
Weight: 0.8 kg
Dimensions (HxWxD): 60 x 120 x 75 mm
Note
Do not confuse battery combiners with isolating diodes! There is a difference.
A combiner has 2 inputs and one common output; the current flows from the two inputs to the common output.
An isolating diode has one input and 2 or 3 outputs. Here, current flows from one input to the outputs.
