Description
The Hallberg-Rassy 352 is a sailing yacht from the Swedish shipyard Hallberg-Rassy with a length of 10.59 metres. A central feature is the centre cockpit, which is raised above the engine compartment and makes the cockpit area more sheltered. The interior is structured for longer cruises and comprises a saloon, a galley and an aft cabin, which can be reached via an internal passageway below deck. The rudder is designed as a skeg rudder and is part of the classic underwater hull. The hull shape follows the typical S-frame character, which means that the boat can be categorised as traditional within its generation. Compared to the Hallberg-Rassy 342, the Hallberg-Rassy 352 offers a different spatial concept thanks to the centre cockpit and the screened aft cabin, but has a more conservative design. The Hallberg-Rassy 352 therefore stands for a layout that combines protection in the cockpit and clear routes below deck.

A small declaration of love. After sailing her for a while, you'll understand why. First Impressions & Build Quality Even upon boarding, the solid construction is immediately apparent. Nothing feels flimsy or cheap. Typical of Hallberg-Rassy is the robust build quality: thick laminate flooring, neatly installed wiring, and high-quality interior wood. The boat feels more like a small, floating home than a mere sports vessel. Below Deck: More Like an Apartment Than a Boat The saloon is warm, with plenty of mahogany and classic lines. It's comfortable, even in bad weather. The aft cabin is surprisingly spacious for a boat of this size, and the forward cabin is easily suitable for longer voyages. What Many People Report: Living on the 352 is truly comfortable, and it's not just about getting by. Under Sail: Not a Racer, But Honest The 352 isn't a boat for racing. It's rather calm, predictable, and forgiving. Upwind, it performs solidly, but not spectacularly fast. However, it remains controllable even in stronger winds. Single-handed sailors and couples especially appreciate this boat's forgiving nature and relaxed sailing characteristics, even in rougher conditions. In heavy weather This is where its strengths truly shine. Many owners report feeling safe even in strong winds. The combination of weight, hull shape, and skeg rudder ensures course stability. This isn't a boat that gets nervous; rather, it stoically holds its course. Handling & Everyday Use In the harbor, you notice the weight; it reacts more sluggishly than modern, lightweight yachts. However, with a little practice, this is easily manageable. Under power, it tracks reliably straight, which is particularly helpful during tight maneuvers. Typical criticisms Of course, it's not without its weaknesses. Not particularly fast in light winds. Comparatively cumbersome to maneuver. Classic layout (less open than modern yachts). Often high prices on the used market due to high demand. Conclusion from an experience perspective: The Hallberg-Rassy 352 isn't a boat that tries to impress, but one that inspires confidence. It's ideal for long voyages, for people who prioritize safety and comfort over speed. Once you've spent an extended period of time on it, you'll notice that it doesn't impose itself, but it grows on you with every nautical mile.
