Product details

1-component primer for underwater coating based on chlorinated rubber. SEATEC Plastomec is ideal as a barrier primer under antifouling and as bonding agent when changing antifouling. It offers high-quality, water-resistant protection against penetrating moisture on GRP, wood or metallic substrates. Fast drying. Recoatable with almost all antifouling types.
Colour shade: grey Coverage: approx. 8 m²/Liter.

Application note:The surface must be dry, clean, free of grease and fully intact. It should also be sanded rough. PLASMOTEC is applied undiluted to the substrate and can be used at temperatures between 0°C and 30°C. Direct sunlight during processing should be avoided. Application with brush or roller only. A minimum waiting time of 4-6 hours at 20°C should be observed between coats.
At low temperatures, applying in several thin layers is recommended. Consumption is approximately 100 ml/m². After a drying time of 6 hours at +20°C, antifouling can be applied. For a moisture barrier on new substrates, 4–5 layers are recommended, while 1–2 layers are sufficient when changing antifouling.

Excellent value for money
I've used a brand-name product for years, and this year I tried Seatec primer for the first time. It looks exactly the same as the brand-name product and provides the same excellent adhesion, but at 30% less cost. I'm very satisfied with Seatec, also when it comes to antifouling.

Good evening, Which thinner should be used with this PLASMOTEC One-Component Underwater Primer? Or should it be used at all? Thanks.

I have not used the Plasmotec primer yet so do not know what thinner, if any should be used. It should give better protection without thinning.
