SVB Seatec E-Bike Hello team, we have been using two folding e-bikes of the SVB Seatec type for several years. Unfortunately, the e-bike function can no longer be switched on on one of the bikes. The battery and front wheel are fine, the fault is either in the wiring or the twist grip. Question for SVB, is there a repair service for these products outside of the warranty or guarantee? I can recommend I've just received the bike and taken it for a test ride. It's easy to ride, the electric motor is sensational, the workmanship and design are very GOOD, and it also seems very stable. I can't say anything about long-term experience!

With the new trip computer, all the information you need, such as battery charge, speed and odometer are always at your fingertips. Thanks to intuitive operation, you can quickly choose between the different levels of support. Pushing aid and light control can be activated at the press of a thumb.
The Seatec Blizzard Pro has four support modes that make pedalling easier and more comfortable, depending on the type of rider and situation. Choose from different support modes via the intuitive trip computer:

TOUR Balanced support for long tours
SPORT Powerful support for city and mountain rides

Cycling data: calculation and display of the most important cycling data. Speed: current, average and maximum speed. Trip: trip distance and total cycling distance. Time: duration of the current trip. Control centre: the trip computer can be used to conveniently control the lights and operate the built-in pushing aid. Pushing aid accelerates the bicycle by approx. 6 km/h giving extra support, e.g. on hills.

The bike promises more than it can

We bought this bike to do shopping and excursions on our travels, not just in one area. Our experience with this bike was unsatisfactory for the reasons described below.

I wouldn't recommend it.

Positive
Many parts are made of aluminum or stainless steel. This means there's little corrosion in the salty air.
The saddle is comfortable, even for longer rides.
The battery life is good.
Converse
- The electric drive is on the front wheel. When riding uphill, the wheel spins, even on asphalt!
- The electric assistance is insufficient when carrying groceries.
- The ergonomic adjustment is not optimal (depends on body size).
- The front brake squeaks, which is unpleasant.
- The coaster brake takes some getting used to.
- The weight of the bike is very high for this type, even without a battery.
- The service in the event of a warranty claim is inadequate. In the event of a warranty claim, the bike is only picked up from the delivery location, even though you are on the go and cannot simply return the bike to the delivery location. Since the installed parts are not standard products, it is difficult to find a local bike shop that can perform repairs.

Unfortunately many defects

We bought two bikes four years ago. When they work, they're good to use. Unfortunately, we've had problems with the technology over the last few years. Last year, a battery died during a bike tour and I had to cycle 10 kilometers through Greece without electric support. Unfortunately, the replacement part that was delivered was already used and didn't have full power. So we had to wait for a new battery. This year, first a motor died and then the wiring of a bottom bracket. Finally, a display broke. Now I'm almost perfect at repairing these e-bikes and I'm waiting for the next defect. The only thing that still makes me feel positive is the goodwill behavior of SVB and the responsible clerk, Mr. H.
.. who is always extremely nice and helpful. Thank you very much for that.

Unfortunately very disappointed with the manufacturer

I bought two bikes for our sailing trip. The gear shift on one of the bikes didn't work, so I had to adjust it first. The fork had the holder for the cable leading to the motor on the wrong side. This was solved by the manufacturer using cable ties. The gearshift is mounted in a mirror image so that the numbers are upside down. After a year of use, the battery stopped working. Manufacturer's note: "The bike should not be used in the rain". But what if it starts to rain on a bike tour (by the way, the bike is sold on yacht sites)? The battery has a switch that is not protected from rainwater. Means that water got into the switch and caused corrosion. The manufacturer's response to replacing the battery was that there was no guarantee for the battery. I was offered a new battery, which costs about as much as half a bike...
And now the kicker! After 2.5 years of occasional use, the front fork broke on both sides of the axle. Fortunately, at very low speed when driving off a curb and not at full speed downhill! God forbid my wife had a guardian angel... I've been waiting for a new fork for months now. Both bikes have now ended up in the trash can (battery etc. disposed of in an exemplary manner, of course). Thank you for this great product and especially the goodwill from Seatec.
SVB has nothing to do with any of this, this is simply an evaluation of the manufacturer Seatec and its product.
