Use biocidal products with care. Always read the label and product information prior to use.
SAMURAI is a tin-free self-polishing antifouling for all hull materials except aluminium. It offers effective protection against organisms such as slime, algae and incrustation. Suitable for all waters with normal vegetation conditions. Top speed 40 knots. The polishing property prevents the build-up of thicker layers and provides fouling protection for one season. Yield: 9.2 m²/l. Number of coats: Two per season.

Application instructions

Technical specifications

  • Application temperature: +5° C to +30° C
  • Drying time at 15 °C: 1.5 hours (dust dry)
  • Overcoating time at 15 °C: min. 6 hours
Can be applied to most antifoulings provided they are in good condition.

For coated surfaces
  • In good condition: Remove fouling and impurities completely. Remove loose residues with a high-pressure cleaner. Then wet sand with 100 grit. If existing antifouling is not compatible or unknown, apply SEAJET 015 Underwater Primer over the old antifouling.
  • In poor condition: Remove all existing antifouling completely.
GRP/Bare Gelcoat/Steel: Make sure the surface is clean, dry, dust-free and in a generally good condition. Use SEAJET Thinner A for degreasing. Coat the surface to be treated with SEAJET 015. Then apply 2 coats of SAMURAI. Repeat the 2 layers every 12 months.

Wood: Make sure that the surface is clean, dry as well and dust-free and in generally good condition. Use SEAJET Thinner A for degreasing. Coat the surface to be treated with SEAJET 015. Then apply 2 coats of SAMURAI. Repeat the 2 layers every 12 months.

Aluminium: SEAJET 031 Samurai Antifouling is not suitable for aluminium boats!

Antifouling properties good, somewhat expensive
Apart from a light green slime layer, there is no growth on the boat. Pox doesn't stick either. However, some "house brands" worked just as well for me. Since this product is significantly more expensive, there is no plus point here.
I only buy it because the cheaper house brand is no longer available. To get the yield for my Rasmus 35, I need 1.5 buckets for one coat.
