As everyone should know, the manufacturer Gleisstein is a renowned company that has been selling its goods for decades. To the purchased pods: thickness 12 mm / 12 meters long / - for the guests on board, in red and green (because they don't know where on the port or starboard anyway). The takling is in good workmanship and looks very durable. In addition, the end is still welded. Of course, I cannot say yet whether this will be the same in time, i.e. after several months. I chose the fed-in eyes for the headsail without chewing. In my opinion, these are the right size to get through the ribbon. The leash is grippy and looks appealing. So far so good. I hope to have given a small assessment of the purchase.

These sheet ropes are spliced by professional riggers. 10 cm eye on one end and whipping on the other end. Sold as a pair - one red sheet and one green sheet (in total 2x 12 m). Ropes available in different rope diameters and length.

Cleaning ropes
Please note the following when cleaning/washing polyester and Dyneema ropes:

  • Hand wash (SVB recommendation):
    • Place the rope in a large bucket or bathtub and fill with warm water.
    • Clean the rope thoroughly with your hands.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).
    • Do not use fabric softener.
    • Then wash the rope with clean water.
  • Washing machine:
    • Only wash rope in a cotton bag.
    • Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).

  • Do not tumble dry the rope.
    • After washing, allow the ropes to drip dry (protected from UV radiation).

This has happened to me twice now with this product!!! This time, the core of the pods is already visible after only two months! The product should be removed from the catalog immediately, as SVB obviously doesn't offer any warranty for this damage!? I certainly won't be buying it again!
