Prone to failure!

Over 18 months of use in the Med, we experienced three times a broken compensator, despite proper installation and non-extreme conditions.
Not a good performance, will not buy again (although SVB promptly and professionally replaced the broken ones so far).

Don't hold when you need them

I have used these dampers for decades. As long as the marina is protected, everything is fine - but beware if things get serious. Because of strong winds or waves in the harbor. I broke 5 of them within a short space of time. After the first 2 mistakes, I converted the rest to just 2, then just 1 wrap - didn't help. Still broke.

To this day, Forsheda has not given me an answer as to what the problem could have been. In any case, I was assured that the expiration date is irrelevant. So why is it on the date?

Since the parts are difficult to install and even more difficult to remove from the rope, I will not use them in future.

I am located in Port Camargue at the entrance to the port and therefore subject to small currents but a lot of west wind coming on the port side. The boat, a 40-foot SW, took a 45 kt wind. Unfortunately one of the ends of the shock absorber gave way. Expiration date not mentioned in the description

One star for the fact that in the product description it doesn't seem to be clearly indicated that the product has an expiration date or at least this is stamped on the rubber.
In this specific case, the expiry date is 2026.
