The pure lamp is completely ok. Where there are problems is the spiral cable. This is so stiff that you have to exert a lot of strength to stretch it. This force must then be absorbed by the connector as a counterpoint. Unfortunately, the plug standard used is not designed to pass large forces on the socket. Therefore, pulling on the lamp - plug comes with a momentum. So without external extension only in the immediate vicinity of the outlet (spiral cable loose0,5 meters) to operate.

Not what I expected

I can't make use of this division into near and far ranges. The beam pattern is correspondingly poor. The coiled cable is stiff, inflexible, and simply unwieldy. I've switched back to a battery-powered LED handheld spotlight (LED Wise). For me, that's the better solution on a sailboat.
