It broke apart, for no obvious reason, the second time I used it. SVB promptly sent me a replacement part free of charge. In stripping and reassembling the device I was staggered to see how flimsy some of the parts were. If these were beefed up I would have a lot more confidence in its suitability and longevity. It is relatively expensive, relatively heavy and yet some parts are flimsy and appear likely to fail

The weak point is the line holder
I have now used the hook 4 times on vacation, 2 times something went wrong. Once the metal line holder was pulled into the closed hook eyelet (Murphy says hello) and then jammed, so it took me a while to get the line free again. The other time I caught a stern buoy but the line fell out of its own holder before I could catch it. Both times the berthing maneuver went more or less wrong. Easy as pie. With such fatal design flaws, the product is completely overpriced.
