Ingenious construction

I bought the hook primarily for threading the line onto mooring buoys in England, only to end up not mooring to a single buoy this summer ;-) But we had plenty of time along the way to test the boat hook's function on cleats and other items. Once you understand the principle, you'll find it simply ingenious. The only caveat is that it's better to use a mooring line with a spliced eye. The bowline knot could easily snag on a thick mooring line's ring.
