The charging booster is currently being tested during our spring cruise.

So far, it's working perfectly!

I've replaced my lead-acid leisure batteries with three LiFePO4 batteries. The starter battery remains lead-acid.

My charging and power supply setup now consists of:

- 1 x Victron 15A mains charger for the lead-acid battery

- 1 x Victron 30A mains charger for the lithium batteries

- 1 x Victron 15A solar charge controller for the leisure batteries

- 1 x Victron 1212 50 charge booster

- 1 x Ective 300S battery box, 300Ah, approx. 3600W, primarily for mains-powered devices including TV, cool boxes, induction cooktops, Thermomix, contact grill, air fryer, etc.

I'm still working on fine-tuning the settings, because according to the Victron Connect A0, the leisure batteries are usually charged via the 15A charger, which is intended exclusively for the lead-acid starter battery, presumably indirectly. My new charging booster seems to think, even when connected to shore power, that my engine is running and that it should be charging both the starter and house batteries.

What would a skipper's life be without unsolved mysteries...?

An excellent DC/DC charger. I especially love the automatic motor start detection, which greatly simplifies use and allows you to forget about it. Simple and transparent to use, I love it!

Does the job charging a 300Ah LiFePo battery bank from a lead acid starter battery 110A rated alternator. Easy installation and configuration over Bluetooth using Victron app.
Earlier models (ORI121217040) had reported problems with VHF noise.
I did not observe any such problems with this model (ORI121217050).

Preparation for lithium batteries.

Does what it says on the tin and does it well! Put one in with new 200AH LiPo4 You can dial in the exact numbers that you want to in order to maintain your battery and protect your alternator.

Nothing to say a quality service with decent shipping costs as before the covid. 29.95 euros for Polynesia is good and invites you to come back to SVB.

Easy install. Works well. Worth pointing out in general the Bluetooth for this range of products isn't the strongest. E.g sometimes can't get it from sitting in the cockpit. But that's a minor detail because it's not a hassle to go near it the charger and engine detection work really well

had to exchange product due to failure. The exchange worked quickly and unbureaucratically with the help of Victron (gives a 5-year guarantee).

I installed the charger to protect the alternator from the lithium battery. Installation was problem-free and integration into the app was easy. The device is working perfectly so far.

I actually wanted to buy 2 of the above mentioned DC DC chargers, but...
Today I found a note on the website

that this device interferes with channel 16 of VHF radios.
For this reason I have refrained from buying it for now and am waiting for a statement from Victron. Apparently it is a "known problem" at Victron

We purchased several of these devices at the end of 2024, although at that time there was no indication that they were unsuitable for use on boats with VHF radios.

Now, suddenly, there's a marine version, as Victron has apparently been aware of the problem for some time.

Victron refuses to replace them through dealers, and there's no direct communication. Absolute rip-off.

It's sad that after a few months, it was discovered that the charger isn't compatible with a VHF radio. What boat doesn't have a radio on board these days? I would have expected Victron to offer a generous replacement option to customers who decided to purchase before this defect was discovered, since the product is now virtually unusable on yachts. Instead, they're now celebrating the introduction of the so-called marine version, which is supposed to not interfere with VHF radio. Honestly, I feel like I've been duped.
