This time absolutely nothing worked.
First off, we are generally satisfied with SVB and will order from them again. However, this time the service was simply poor. We placed a large order (electronics, anchor, anchor chain, dinghy, electric winch, etc.) with pallet shipping.
We repeatedly stated that we wanted one complete delivery, not partial deliveries. Everything was to be delivered together on one pallet. We also needed to know the delivery date well in advance, as we both work full-time and need to arrange for acceptance. Initially, some items were backordered, which wouldn't have been a problem at all. Then things started to go wrong. Suddenly, we received emails about partial shipments being sent, emails from UPS indicating delivery the following day, and to top it all off, the delivery address was incorrect. I immediately contacted SVB but haven't received a reply to this day. The same thing happened with the second delivery, which is now going to a completely wrong address. Again, no response from SVB.
We had communicated everything so clearly: why, where it should be delivered, and please, please, with some advance notice – just a little communication would have been appreciated. None of it worked, and I'm emailing and running back and forth trying to organize everything on top of work. Right now, I'm absolutely furious! Incidentally, this isn't the first time we've requested a single delivery, only to have partial deliveries made suddenly and without any prior notice.
