This is really not much and very easy to exceed. The plastic casing doesn't withstand overtightening. (Carling states that new products are made of a stronger plastic.) Mine was over ten years old, and it literally exploded when I tightened the nuts. If you don't have a torque wrench, be sure to hold the lower nut while tightening the upper one. The terminals are held between two nuts. Note that these are conductive nuts and washers; do not replace them with stainless steel nuts and washers.
