Hello,
Personally, I run at lower RPMs, between 1,650 and 1,800 RPM, occasionally revving up to 1,950 or 2,000 RPM to clear the turbo. My engine has 5,800 hours on it, and I’ve replaced the turbo twice with compatible parts since the beginning—once at around 2,800 hours and again at 5,500 hours (at the same time as the exhaust elbow and the sail-drive gasket).
On my Dufour 455, this allows me to maintain reasonable fuel consumption and avoid overworking the engine while cruising at speeds between 6 and 7 knots.
