Notes on programming:

This PLB must be programmed with your personal data before dispatch. The appliance will not function without prior programming.

The programming of this data must be carried out by us, you cannot do this yourself.

As a rule, we program a PLB so that it can be used as an EPIRB. This means that the device is programmed and registered to a vessel and not a person. To do this, we need your personal data such as MMSI, boat name and call sign.

Please add the above-mentioned programming accordingly and complete the form in full.

If you require programming for a specific person, we can also do this for you.

The registration of the device to the respective country code must, in any case, be carried out by us.

Please let us know in which country you would like to register the device. Since there are no authorities for PLB emergency beacons in Germany, you can, for example, find information about the further procedure on the website of the English authorities ( https://www.gov.uk/register-406-beacons ) In addition, the registration of the PLB should be carried out on the website of the IBRD (International Beacon Registration Database) ( https://www.406registration.com/ ). We would also like to point out that, in accordance with the regulations of the respective country, you must register the EPIRB personally as the licence holder with the competent authority.

accidental activation
A kayaking event.
The plb was put in a pocket on front of alife jacket.
When practising a resque it apparently got tweezed between the kayak rim and the body of the kayaker.
Although the antenna was not released for alarm and the activation button was hidden, this enabled the plb and a search and rescue was initiated by the danish SAR.
The SAR operation was cancelled one hour later when the reason was found.
Conclusion The plb may be unvoluntarily activated when exposed to localized pressure even when the protecting antenna is still in place.
