Product details

The BARTON TUPHblox block with ring / single-sheave / 14 mm is a robust and classic block for use on board. The single-sheave design is rated for rope up to 14 mm in diameter and is particularly suitable for general rope-guiding and deflection tasks on deck, as well as for applications involving medium to high static loads.

The block is made from seawater-resistant Tufnol (hard fabric) combined with stainless steel fittings. This material combination ensures high UV resistance, excellent emergency running properties when operating on a plain bearing, and a long service life even under harsh maritime conditions. The plain bearing is designed for robust continuous loading and operates reliably with low maintenance requirements and high mechanical load-bearing capacity.

The fixed bracket allows for stable and direct attachment at the fitting point and ensures simple, durable installation. Thanks to its classic, virtually wear-free design, the block is particularly suitable for cruising yachts and working applications where robustness and simple functionality are more important than maximum smoothness of operation.

Care advice

Cleaning and maintenance of blocks:

Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (if necessary, carefully use a soft brush).
For heavier soiling: soak the block in warm fresh water with a little detergent and move the sheaves (do not use aggressive cleaners).
Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt may be forced into the bearings.
Then allow to dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – incorrect lubrication may impair function.
Disassemble only if explicitly intended by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
