Illuminants for Boats

Luminosity = lumens ÷ watts. Due to the widely varying efficiencies of illuminants, it is impossible to compare them only on the basis of watt output. It is easier to compare illuminants according to light output. This is expressed in lumens. It is also easy to compare bulb efficiency using the lumen/watt ratio.

Illuminants for boats

- LED inserts & replacements -

In the past, candles were used as an indicator of luminosity, until the blackbody radiator made out of platinum was used. The unit for measuring luminosity is candela (cd).

Illuminance (unit: lux) refers to the distance of the illuminated object to the light source in question. This is the light intensity that arrives at the illuminated object.
In summary, the best way to compare illuminants is to look at the lumen value.
