easyAIS IS / 2-Channel Receiver

It sure is a nice device. Only the product description was misleading for me: "The AIS data can be displayed on either an AIS compatible chart plotter or PC software." An AIS compatible plotter is too accurate. My plotter Geonav 7 wide net is AIS capable. However, it does not work with the easy-AIS-IS, since the baud rate of the easy-ais-is is 38,000, but the plotter only manages 4,800 baud!! I was therefore forced to exchange the easy-ais-is for the "old" easy-ais-2nd generation", with all the disadvantages: 1. no integrated splitter 2. no USB port for the PC 3. total configuration approx. 50 € more expensive! 4. The additional efforts - info - return exchange etc. Therefore I can't actually give any rating for the device in question! Note. SVB: Basically the objection/contribution is correct. A reduction in the transmission speed to 4,800 characters per second is fundamentally possible and was also justifiable in the first "AIS years". Not so many ships with AIS transponders have been on the road for a while, but now every cutter, coaster, small ferry, etc. has to be equipped with an AIS transmitter and the transmission speed has to be reduced in sea areas with high traffic density means that the destinations are no longer displayed on the plotter. If the skipper now relies on his AIS receiver or on the display in the plotter, it may well be that a big pot appears in front of his nose, but this is not displayed. In the past, some plotters of older generations were beefed up with AIS software without, however, making the necessary modifications to the hardware and the interfaces (increase from 4,800 baud to 38,400 baud).
