Range
The Pod Drives feature a brushless DC motor which makes them highly efficient. They can easily last up to one and a half hours at full speed, depending on motor, battery, boat and waters. Connecting more batteries further increases the range.

Recuperation
Pod Drives from ePropulsion have a recuperation function which recovers energy while moving - at a speed of 3 - 10 knots recuperation is operational and can recharge the battery of your POD Drive. Above 10 knots, the motor switches to protection mode and charging power does not increase further. Recuperation can increase the range of your e-propulsion system.
Epropulsion POD
48 V batteries
The best solution for powering Pod Drives are ePropulsion E series LiFePO4 batteries. These batteries from ePropulsion have been specially developed for the Navy 3.0 / 6.0 of the Spirit Plus and POD drives. The new lithium-ion batteries are available in capacities of 2048 Wh, 4096 Wh and 8960 Wh. Batteries are permanently monitored by an integrated BMS (battery management system). Furthermore, the housing and plug connections are waterproof according to IP67 standards. The extruded, anodised aluminium housing provides perfect protection for the lithium-ion battery, which is also fire-resistant thanks to its special honeycomb structure and safety distance between the cells.

Control
You can choose from three different controls for the Pod Drive series. The Evo controls are designed to be particularly user-friendly, responsive and adaptable.
  • The digital display shows you the operating voltage, charging status, remaining range and much more at all times.
  • Electric start button
  • The emergency stop magnetic chip stops the engine immediately in a man-overboard situation.
  • The fully adjustable speed control is extremely easy to operate.
  • Adjustable maximum power output makes the ePropulsion electric boat motors kid-friendly.
  • The controls are suitable for left or right handers.
