Single block with swivel shackle.
The low-friction HARKEN Carbo AirBlocks are lightweight, strong and reliable. They are 60% stronger and 30% lighter than the classic blocks. Virtually "companions" to HARKEN's popular Black Magic line, these blocks can handle very high workloads and are ideal for safe and easy trimming, no matter how strong the wind blows. The side plates are made of UV stabilised, high-strength technical resin. The sheaves run on high-load Orbit ball bearings in special shaped cups for low friction operation. HARKEN Carbo blocks are equally suitable for the dinghy, regatta and the ambitious cruisers and racers.
Cleaning and Maintenance of Blocks:
- Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (carefully assist with a soft brush if necessary).
- For heavier soiling: Soak the block in warm fresh water with a little dish soap and move the rollers (do not use harsh cleaners).
- Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt can be forced into the bearing.
- Allow to dry thoroughly afterwards to prevent corrosion.
- Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – improper lubrication can impair their function.
- Disassemble only if explicitly instructed by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
