Musste lange warten bis Hella endlich die Tri-Color LED mit Ankerlicht heraus gebracht hat. Schon 2005 hatte ich die konventionellen Aquasignal 50-er an Backbord, Steuerbord und Heck durch die gerade in Neuseeland neu erschienenen NaviLEDs von Hella ersetzt. Die werden ja in Neuseeland hergestellt und kamen dort auch zuerst auf den Markt. Dazu gab es damals noch einen super Einführungspreis. Die konventionellen Lampen waren immer äußerst unzuverlässig, waren immer voller Wasser, hatten Korossionsprobleme und brannten bei Erschütterung im Seegang immer durch. Das war mit den Hella LED-Lampen alles Vergangenheit, die sind hell, gut sichtbar und gehen einfach immer. Damals gab es noch kein Dampferlicht und auch keine Dreifarbenlaterne, deswegen blieben diese konventionell. Als Ankerlicht hatten wir sowieso eine vorheißbare LED Laterne, und das Dampferlicht hat man ja eh nur unter Maschine an, da spielt dann der Stromverbrauch kaum eine Rolle. Auch funktionierte das weiter weg vom nassen Element einigermaßen zuverlässig. Die Drei-Farbenlaterne war beim Stromverbrauch schon eher ein kleines Problem da sie viele Nächte auf langen Strecken immer an war und genau da hätte man sich die LEDs gewünscht. Aber wie gesagt die Priorität war erst Zuverlässigkeit und erst dann der Verbrauch. Nun war es aber auch mit der Zuverlässigkeit der konventionellen Dreifarbenlampe zunehmend ein Problem: Auch oben in 21m Höhe gab es Korossion und der Kunststoff hatte soviel UV abgekriegt, das er sehr brüchig wurde und Sockel und Gehäuse mehrfach geklebt werden mussten. Zwar gab es von AquaSignal schon etwas länger eine LED-Dreifarbenlaterne und sogar mit kompatiblem Quick-Out Sockel, aber genau der hatte sich eher als Problem erwiesen. So hat Hella nun gerade rechtzeitig für mich, diese neue Dreifarbenlaterne auf den Markt gebracht. Erfahrung haben wir damit natürlich noch nicht viel gemacht, aber sie ist genauso versiegelt wie die anderen Lampen, scheint sicher und einfach zu montieren. Was die Lichtabgabe anbelangt kann ich das noch nicht sagen, aber wenn die genau so gut ist wie bei den anderen NaviLeds, dann reicht es sicher so weit wie die konventionelle Laterne. Interessanterweise hat Hella für die verschiedenen Sektoren auch verschiedene Technick eingesetzt. Rot und Grün werden jeweils von starken Einzel-LEDs mit Refelktor gebildet, der weiße achtere Sektor kommt durch zwei vertikale Streifen mit je 4 LEDs und Begrenzungsblenden zustande. Für das Ankerlicht sind 12 mal 2 LEDs Ringförmig angeordnet, eher ähnlich Lobolight. Kritisch war bei LED Laternen häufig ein geringerer möglicher Krängungswinkel. Was das anbelangt habe ich den Abstrahlwinkel gemessen und bin angenehm überrascht. Rot und Grün: +/- 27,5 Grad sehr scharf abgegrenzt, sehr gleichmäßig ausgeleuchtet. Weißer Sektor: +/- 28 Grad etwas unschärfer abgegrenzt Ankerlicht: +/- 10 Grad etwas fleckiger Lichtwurf Alles in allem ein guter Eindruck, und auch der Preis ist akzeptabel.

Durch komplett verschlossene Bauweise und LED-Technik hoffentlich sehr langlebig, die alten Leuchten wurden durch Sonneneinstrahlung und Temperaturen spröde - Langzeittest dieser Leuchten steht nun an. Bereits montierte Kabel praktisch bei der Verlegung - müssen dann aber natürlich je nach Bootsgröße verlängert werden

NaviLED PRO navigation lights combine precision optics and modern Multivolt™ technology (9 - 33 volts) to provide maximum visibility and safety with minimal power draw. They require only about 10 % of the energy compared to a conventional bulb. Set consists of one starboard, port and stern light.
The NaviLED PRO type lights are extremely durable even under harsh conditions. They have a range of 2 nautical miles. Each light is completely waterproof, UV and corrosion resistant and has a service life of at least 50,000 hours. Thanks to LED technology, no filaments can break, making these new lights extremely shock and impact resistant and maintenance-free.

As an anchor light we had anyway a pre-usable LED lantern, and the steamer light one has anyway only under machine s.there then the power consumption hardly plays a role. Also, the further away from the wet element worked quite reliably. The three-color lantern was a little problem with the power consumption as it was many nights on long stretches always on and exactly would have wanted the LEDs. But as said the priority was only reliability and only then the consumption. Now, however, the reliability of the conventional tri-color lamp was increasingly a problem: there was also corossion at the top at a height of 21 m, and the plastic had lost so much UV that it became very brittle and the base and housing had to be glued several times. Although AquaSignal already had a longer LED tri-color lantern and even a compatible Quick-Out socket, it was a problem. So Hella has now just in time for me to put this new three-color lantern on the market. We have not done much of this yet, but it is just as sealed as the other lamps, seems safe and easy to assemble. Regarding the light output I can not say that yet, but if that is just as good as with the other NaviLeds, then it is certainly as far as the conventional lantern. Interestingly, Hella has also used various technics for the various sectors. Red and green are each formed by strong single LEDs with reflector, the white aft sector is achieved by two vertical strips, each with 4 LEDs and limiting screens. For the anchor light, 12 times 2 LEDs are arranged in an annular shape, similar to Lobolight. A lesser possible heel angle was often critical with LED lanterns. As far as that is concerned, I measured the beam angle and am pleasantly surprised. Red and green: +/- 27.5 degrees very sharply delineated, very evenly illuminated. White sector: +/- 28 degrees slightly blurred Anchor light: +/- 10 degrees slightly blurred light All in all a good impression, and also the price is acceptable.
