Number of mooring lines:

Ideally, a boat is secured with four mooring lines.
The stern line is attached to the stern of the boat to maintain a constant distance between the boat and the mooring. The bow line serves exactly the same purpose. The two springs prevent the boat from drifting forwards and backwards. The springs are particularly important in waters with high and low tides or in waters with strong currents.


Cleaning ropes:

Please note the following when cleaning/washing polyester and Dyneema ropes:

  • Hand wash (SVB recommendation):
    • Place the rope in a large bucket or bathtub and fill with warm water.
    • Clean the rope thoroughly with your hands.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).
    • Do not use fabric softener.
    • Then wash the rope with clean water.
  • Washing machine:
    • Only wash rope in a cotton bag.
    • Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees.
    • Do not use regular washing powder (you can find a possible alternative here).
    • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry the rope.
    • After washing, allow the ropes to drip dry (protected from UV radiation).

Easy to splice
Use as a buoy strop (connecting buoy to bow eye). As a boat moored to a buoy on the eastern shore of the lake, I get full blast from the waves and wind in bad weather – hence the robust strop.

Since the zebra mussels also love the strop and settle there, I replace it approximately every 3 years.

Dear Sir , this rope is not floating . We do state this in the topics to every rope we have online . In common the rope has to be made of PP - Polypropylen to make it floating .
