Replacement for old horn Needed a replacement for old horn (the sound generator turned out to be defective) and the item was delivered to Southern Europe extremely quickly. The new sound generator required a little more space, but in the end everything fit perfectly and I am very satisfied, especially with the really quick turnaround. A 17m yacht without an intact signal system is not a good feeling.

Product details

Since 15 July 1986 every vessel with a length above 12 meters has to be equipped with sound signals, according to SeeStrO 1972, rule 33. The MARCO sound signal corresponds to these regulations. They have a watertight loudspeaker (IP67), an electronic controlling unit, a service unit and optional microphone.

Use the operating panel to start foghorn signals with a standard duration of 5 seconds or an individual tone sequence with an interval of 60 or 90 seconds. With the precedence button (manual sound) a manual tone sequence can be made. Devices with a microphone can be used as an interphone and connecting a sound source (radio device, radio, CD player, etc.), transmits these signals to the speaker. Includes mounting set.

Signal unit for boats from 12 to 20 m:

  • sound pressure: 121db with 1 m
  • basic frequency 675 Hz
  • speaker dimensions: Ø 250 x 237 mms

Approved by RINA, LLOYD’S REGISTER MCA, BUREAU VERITAS, NMMA and BSH.

Included: Horn with bracket, sound generator box, control panel, short connection cable (connection horn to generator). Does not include a connecting cable (RJ45) to connect the control panel and the sound generator. You can buy this cable in various lengths at electronics stores.

Note: approval documents are at the end of the installation/operating instructions.
