Product details

High-precision battery monitor with large, splash-proof display (IP65), which shows all important battery bank information (voltage, current, amperes and battery capacity in %) and sounds an alarm when your battery bank is empty. The BATTMAN PRO also displays the remaining battery life and stores a whole range of historical data*. For example, an audible alarm or a matching relay for deep discharge protection can be connected to the alarm output. The alarm output is a neutral (normally open) switching contact that can be loaded with max. 60 V / 1 A. Power supply: 9-35 V DC. Dimensions: outer Ø 64 mm, installation Ø: 52 mm. Installation depth: 73 mm. Supplied with 500 A shunt.

* The BATTMAN PRO stores the following historical data.
  • Average discharge in ampere hours (Ah) and in %.
  • Deepest discharge in Ah and in %.
  • The total Ah withdrawn from the battery over time
  • The total Ah charged into the battery over time
  • The number of charge/discharge cycles
  • The number of battery charges to synchronise the battery monitor
  • The number of total discharges (battery state of charge 0.0%)
  • The number of discharge alarms
  • The number of undervoltage alarms from the "Main" and "Auxiliary" battery
  • The number of overvoltage alarms from the "Main" and "Auxiliary" battery

Note
The Batman can also be used for lithium-based batteries.
In the basic settings (step F7), the factory-set Peukert value of 1.25 must be set to 1.00 for this purpose.

How deeply do I have to discharge the battery?
The battery monitor shows me, among other things, the percentage of charge and the required AH number that is required for a full charge. The display, which is illuminated if necessary, is easy to read from a straight viewing angle, even in semi-darkness. I charge the battery almost exclusively via the alternator or the solar panel. The solar controller ensures compliance with the auto sync parameters described under F02 and F03. Now the 100% was reached prematurely, so that the percentage display jumped to 100%. Is it possible that the battery has lost capacity? And how do I know that? You write that a full charge cycle is required for synchronization. I miss the information about how deep the battery has to be discharged. I've been using the display for 2 years now and still don't know whether the 100% SOC only relates to the set Ah number or whether it is updated automatically depending on the state of the battery. Display, shunt and a small cross-head screwdriver for the display connections are included. Additionally you need a cable with a sufficiently sized cross section* between the negative battery connection and the shunt, a twisted pair cable between shunt and display, some small wires for display power supply or voltage measurement of a second battery, some fuse holder (e.g. 47018) and fuses (e.g. 25775) and suitable cable lugs to connect the cables to the battery and the shunt. See above "Documents"/manual. *depends on current (max. 500 A) and cable length.
