AB Mercury 3.5 hp Engine is running very well. In the lower rpm range very quiet and smooth. Consumption is good too.

A really good engine The scope of delivery is extremely complete, a second emergency stop line is included, as well as a reserve start line, a second shear pin with a split pin for the prop, and even the required engine oil. Unpacked, filled with oil and gasoline, the engine jumped on the second train and ran quietly to itself. The lack of reverse gear takes getting used to. To drive backwards, the motor is turned, ie take off the gas, take out gear, turn the motor, throw the tiller, go back in gear. This means that stopping the sailboat takes longer, which should be taken into account when maneuvering in the harbor. But it is certainly a question of getting used to, and it saves weight. Isn't that unimportant if you want to lift the engine from the sailing boat onto the dinghy and attach it ...

Good little engine I use it with a 3.20 m polyester boat on the coast for fishing at less than 2 miles, either to train in slow motion, or to sail. Its power is largely sufficient and its consumption very low (less than a liter of gasoline for a morning of fishing). It's just a bit noisy at high revs. This is the 2nd one I have and am very happy with it.
