The new MERCURY F9.9 EFI outboard is incredibly responsive and gets you going with little or no preparation at all.

The new EFI models

The Mercury EFI outboards include:
  • The new EFI outboard engines deliver fast, reliable starting and instant throttle response in any weather.
  • The superior torque provides more acceleration, for faster boat planing.
  • Lighter construction and improved design for better performance, fuel economy, efficiency and hull control.
  • The new design allows quicker and easier oil and filter changes.
  • The new EFI outboards have a practical fresh water flushing system and a low-copper aluminium alloy that provides even better protection against corrosion.

Command Trust

Big-time power. With a longer design and bigger components, Mercury Command Thrust was made specifically to deliver the type of power, thrust and control that wider, heavier boats demand.

The Command Thrust Difference (Blue shaded areas represent prop and gearcase advantages)
  • 20% larger prop increases control especially at low speeds
  • Taller gearcase puts the prop deeper, below turbulent water, for improved performance
  • A low 2.42:1 gear ratio delivers thrust and maneuveraility that big loads demand
  • Oversized Antiventilation Plate. Oversized design prevents air from being drawn into the prop, which increases efficiency.

The Tiller model features an exclusive Mercury multifunction tiller. Which puts:
  • Shifting
  • Throttle control (featuring an optimal slow-speed throttle advance function)
  • Stopping
  • Tilting
  • Steering
in the palms of your hands.

With a low weight, these engines are very portable and improve the performance of lightweight boats.


Convenient and easy tilting

Push down on the tiller handle to easily tilt the outboard to any position, made easy with the exclusive ratcheting transom bracket.

Very good value for money
Nothing to complain about the price, very competitive to counter all these brands which take advantage of inflation to fool us.
The engine was only delivered with the instructions and maintenance booklet in German. I called the after-sales service who sent me the instructions in French in PDF format.
However, I am still waiting for the paper version in French which was promised to me by the after-sales service...

During use, the engine stalled several times without explanation while it was at mid-range...
To be confirmed (or not) during next use.

Furthermore, the metal rod which activates the manual choke jumped twice, and that's when I realized that it was incorrectly mounted and that I had to turn the choke by half a turn so that the metal rod fits into the notch on the side of the choke which now prevents it from coming out when you activate the choke.

So not completely satisfied.
