Product details

This tachometer with integrated hour meter is a precise and versatile instrument that was specially developed for use on boats. With a measuring range of 0 to 8000 RPM, it provides precise information about engine speed and also records the operating hours in order to keep an eye on maintenance intervals. The ratio can be adjusted from 1.0 to 10.0 and enables optimal adaptation to different engine types. The elegant black dial and the robust stainless steel front ring give the instrument a high-quality design that is also optimised for outdoor use. The ring is permanently integrated and cannot be removed or replaced.

General features of the KUS SEA V series
The glass of the instruments is double-insullated, which provides excellent protection against fogging. Installation is extremely simple: the instrument is inserted from the front through the 85 mm drill hole and secured with a union nut from the rear. Supply power with the multi-plug. All instruments have backlighting. Options of red or yellow colour background light. The units are designed for 12 volt operation, but can also be operated in 24 volt systems by using a series resistor. Temperature range between approx. -40 C to +80 C.

I'm very satisfied – I disassembled the tachometer and used it to convert a vintage car tachometer. Thanks to its programmability, the pointer deflection could be precisely adjusted to the scale of the vintage part using a frequency generator. The original look of the vintage tachometer, including the pointer, was preserved, while in the background, the stepper motor and modern electronics of KUS part no. 21549 do their job.
