This Oceanlink tachometer is a master gateway that shows all important data. It features an integrated digital display that can show data including oil pressure, fuel consumption and operating hours.
In addition to two inputs for analogue sensors, the tachometer also has a CAN-Bus interface with SAE J1939 data protocol. Easylink satellite instruments (Slaves) can also be connected. Easylink satellite instruments are updated every 20 ms by the central instrument (master).

Is it possible/easy to connect this tachometer with a Volvo Penta D2 40B engine to replace the original VP3885694 tachometer?
Hello, it should also be compatible with your engine. I do not know any reason why not.
