The 2-component epoxy resin consists of the 105 resin and a 206 hardener as well as the accessories required for direct processing: 301-5A pump set, 2 pairs of disposable gloves, 6x 60 ml mixing cups, 3x mixing sticks.
The epoxy system has high strength and outstanding versatility, making it suitable for a wide variety of work and repairs on board. The system is also a good choice for domestic use and other construction projects. In addition, the 2-component system is suitable for a wide variety of substrates such as wood, GRP or various metals.
The slow hardener 206 is an epoxy hardener consisting of a low-viscosity mixture of polyamines. Mixed in a ratio of 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener, it produces a high-strength, rigid, moisture-resistant solid that is ideal as a coating or adhesive and for wetting glass fibre. For an optimum mixing ratio, we recommend using the West System 300 Mini pumps. A full stroke of resin and hardener gives the right mixing ratio.
This hardener is usually used when a longer time is required for larger surfaces and bonding. Pot life at 22°C: 25 - 30 minutes. Hardens to a solid mass in about 10 hours at 22°C and reaches full hardening after about nine days.
Possible applications :
- Bonding
- Joining of covings
- Fastening fittings and casting foundations for fittings
- Fastening bolts
- Laminating and laminating
- Filling
- Laminating with glass fibre
- Barrier coating
Substrates:
- Wood
- glass fibre
- Composite materials
- Various metals
Addition of fillers
WEST SYSTEM offers a range of fillers that are used to thicken the basic mixture of resin and hardener for specific applications. By adding an appropriate amount of filler, a "thicker" consistency can be achieved (suitable for filling cavities, filler fillets, for producing large, uneven bonds and for use as a levelling compound).
