Before using this cable, be sure to check that you have a free SeaTalk1 jack on your network at the desired location. Often the last device connected to the network is a card reader with only one socket. It is then impossible to extend the network using this cable. You will probably have a free jack on the other end of the network, but it may be in the cockpit or on the helm console. In this case, you must also buy an extension box (reference 98580 at SVB) and a SeaTalk1Seatlak1 cable (unfortunately not sold by SVB) to insert this box in the network at the location you want. Also note that SVB does not offer SeaTalk1 R08050 cable, with a SeaTalk1 jack on one side and nothing on the other (necessary, for example to connect a SeaTalk 1 network to a multiplexer such as the ShipModul MiniPlex). Rather than looking for this cable from another supplier, you can choose this one and simply cut the SeaTalk NG plug (the yellow plug). It works perfectly, because it's the same cable with the three wires (yellow red and ground). And it remains cheaper than many other suppliers for a cable R08050.
