2 years almost Yes this product is effective. I tried to last 2 years without fairing, as indicated in the description. It was just right at the. I won't do it again. It is better to take your boat out once a year to take advantage of the fairing to check other points, anodes, valves....Delivery and above all packaging by SVB perfect.

Antifouling is totally OK but the scaremongering of the dealers .... is very questionable Hello, apparently it is becoming standard practice to panic the poor customers with the "new biocide regulation". The cited biocide regulation - ChemBiozidDV has been in force since 2022. The AF paints available since then all fully comply with the regulation, so there is actually nothing new in terms of composition and ingredients, everything as usual. Unfortunately, the changes only affect dealers. From 01.01.25, they must lock away all AFs, i.e. no longer accessible to customers in free sales (AF behind bars) and train staff who have certain knowledge to conduct a "delivery discussion". Let's be honest - it can always get more stupid. Anyone who has been painting antifouling on their boat for years knows how it works, right? It gets funny online, you get everything explained to you via video call that you already know anyway - and let's be honest, nobody buys an AF to paint their garden shed with it... or do they? Proof that the buyer intends to use it to paint their boat, e.g. by presenting the SBF - what nonsense, what is the small boat driver with less than 15 HP supposed to present? Just as a side note, this affects all products that contain a biocide, so also spider spray, fly, mosquito, wasp and whatever else contains biocides. Even cleaning products with disinfection that contain biocides must be advised. If you want to buy a cleaning product for your bathroom with biocides, you then present the purchase or rental contract for the house (sarcasm off). And the statement that prices would then have to be increased... well, anyone who thinks otherwise would be a joker... Have fun with the endless consultations with customers via video chat. -) sorry, I just had to get that off my chest Horst

Tin-free self-polishing SHOGUN antifouling from SEAJET protects your underwater hull from organisms such as slime, algae and marine growth throughout the season. Suitable for boats made of GRP, wood and steel at speeds up to a maximum of 40 knots in salt and fresh water. This antifouling is not suitable for aluminium boats. The polishing property prevents the build-up of thicker layers and provides fouling protection for one season. Yield: 9.6 m²/l. Number of coats: Two per season.

Application instructions

Technical specifications

  • Application temperature: +0° C to +30° C
  • Drying time at 15 °C: 1.5 hours (dust dry)
  • Overcoating time at 15 °C: min. 7 hours
Can be applied to most antifoulings provided they are in good condition.

For coated surfaces
  • In good condition: Remove fouling and impurities completely. Remove loose residues with a high-pressure cleaner. Then wet sand with 100 grit. If existing antifouling is not compatible or unknown, seal with suitable barrier coat.
  • In poor condition: Remove all existing antifouling completely.
GRP/Bare Gelcoat/Steel: Make sure the surface is clean, dry, dust-free and in a generally good condition. Use SEAJET Thinner A for degreasing. Coat the surface to be treated with SEAJET 015. Then apply two coats of SHOGUN. Repeat the 2 layers every 12 months.

Wood: Make sure that the surface is clean, dry as well and dust-free and in generally good condition. Use SEAJET Thinner A for degreasing. Coat the surface to be treated with SEAJET 015. Then apply two coats of SHOGUN. Repeat the 2 layers every 12 months.

Aluminium: Do not use Shogun on aluminium surfaces.
