Care advice
Cleaning and maintenance of blocks:
- Rinse blocks regularly and thoroughly with warm fresh water to remove salt and dirt (if necessary, carefully use a soft brush).
- For heavier dirt: soak the block in warm fresh water with a little detergent and move the sheaves (do not use aggressive cleaners).
- Avoid pressure washers, as water and dirt may be forced into the bearings.
- Then allow to dry thoroughly to prevent corrosion.
- Lubricate only when necessary and according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Note: Many modern bearings are maintenance-free or self-lubricating – incorrect lubrication may impair function.
- Disassemble only if explicitly intended by the manufacturer, as not all blocks are designed for maintenance or disassembly.
