Description

The Dehler 28 S is an 8.6 metre long, sporty and comfortable sailing boat with an efficient hull shape and well thought-out interior that combines everyday cruising with sporty handling. Top features are the well-balanced rig with self-tacking jib, the spacious cockpit for safe manoeuvres, good headroom below deck and the comfortable galley equipment with stationary cooker and generous sink area for longer stays. Special features of the model are the stable construction with optional short wing keel for shallower waters and the clever interior design with storage and cool box options that make sailing and living on board easier. The direct steering response, the easily accessible engine compartment and the solid workmanship of the details for long-term use at sea are popular. Compared to the normal Dehler 28, the Dehler 28 S offers more comfort below deck and better thought-out everyday equipment with the same sporty orientation. The Dehler 28 S is therefore regarded as a comfort-orientated further development with a sporty core and is particularly popular with sailors looking for performance and cosy utility in a balanced concept.

I like the small Dehler Since September, I've been the proud owner of a small 1992 Dehler 28s. She's in good condition, and the workmanship is high-quality and robust throughout. The interior hull is a bit of a nuisance, but I'm slowly discovering the passageways, conduits, and cavities, so I can access everything. My Dehler was converted to an electric motor (ePropusion Evo 6kW) by the previous owner. I'm currently gaining my first experiences with it in the Mediterranean and can say that I'm getting along well so far. I still have a few issues to address. Among other things, the furling system slips, which is really annoying in windy conditions. Her strengths are her excellent handling both upwind and on beam reaches. I haven't sailed her downwind much yet. In the marina, her maneuverability and responsiveness are surprisingly immediate. It makes life incredibly easy for me as a beginner. She stops instantly and responds to the tiller without any delay. All in all, I love my little boat. It's perfect for a beginner like me and is really fun even in light winds. Feel free to ask questions in the boat owners' forum or via private message. Best regards, Stephan
