Old, but solid and robust – but not a racehorse. For a 40-year-old mass-produced yacht, it has held up remarkably well thanks to the excellent care of its previous owners. With a comprehensive electronics upgrade, it's a truly good and solid cruising yacht for coastal and/or inland waters. The 1980s design is conservative, and the 960 has ample reserves even for rough weather. It sails solidly and predictably, but it's not a racehorse and perhaps a touch sluggish. The interior finish is of a quality that modern mass-produced boats can only dream of.
