I am riding a sport boat in the regatta. I've been using the Spinlock Power clamp here for years instead of a normal curry clamp, because the curry clamp is very hard to load under heavy load and the PXR opens immediately. If, for example, you suddenly fall off, there were always problems and crash risk. I have only had good long-term experience with the power clamp. RS from Austria.

Product details

The PXR cam cleats have been designed for precise control of high-performance lines. Particular attention was paid during development to the hole spacing of 27 mm (11/16") so that installed clamps can be replaced without problems. The PXR0206/T is suitable for 2 to 6 mm diameter rope. Three stage adjustable release spring. Easy to open at high loads. A stainless steel fairlead gives a wide operating angle.

I use this part as a rudder vang cleat.

An initial test (at approximately 6 knots) shows that the cleat holds and doesn't release prematurely. In case of grounding, it can be manually released at any time (even at full tension).

Thus, torn or broken vangs are a thing of the past.

I previously had a cam cleat, which tore the vang sheath several times.

Good Compact Cleat
I bought 2 of these to replace like-for-like 2 others that were a decade old.
They look exactly the same with the additional knob to adjust traction.

The holes on the basis do not match the former model (10 years older), meaning I could only reuse one and had to drill a couple new ones for installed the 2 cleats.
