Very easy to dose Epoxy for laminating, filling, and filling (with additive) is very easy to work with, produces little fumes or unpleasant odors, and achieves excellent results on fiberglass at an outside temperature of 10°C. Sufficient for minor repairs with glass fiber matting; approximately 0.5 square meters could be processed without any problems.

Product details

This 2-part epoxy resin set consists of the 105 Epoxy Resin and 205 Fast Hardener. The professional epoxy system was developed specifically for the boating sector. It has high strength and outstanding versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of work and repairs on your boat. The system is also highly suitable for domestic use and other DIY projects. It can be used on a variety of surfaces such as wood, GRP or metals.
Hardener 205 is used when you need to have the resin cure particularly quickly. WEST SYSTEM Fast Hardener 205 is ideal for use in cold weather, as it ensures good curing even at temperatures as low as +5 °C. It can be mixed with the 105 Epoxy resin in the ratio of 5 parts resin to 1 part hardener, the cured mixture yields a rigid, high-strength, moisture-resistant solid body with excellent bonding and barrier coating properties. Pot life: 9 - 12 minutes at 22°C. Cures to a solid mass in five to seven hours at 22°C. Fully cured after several days.

Adding fillers
WEST SYSTEM offers a range of fillers that are used to thicken the base mix of resin and hardener for specific applications. By adding filler, a "thicker" consistency can be achieved (suitable for filling cavities, fillets, making large, uneven bondings and for use as a filler).

Use at cold temperatures
Even when using the Faster Hardener 205, it should be noted that cold temperatures increase the viscosity of epoxy resin, making it more difficult to dose, mix and apply the mixture correctly. It is therefore advisable to preheat the containers of resin and hardener, e.g. by placing the containers under a heat lamp. Pre-warmed resins and hardeners adhere less to the mixing pumps, they are easier to mix and have better flow properties. More detailed information can be found in the technical manual.
