Product details

The iQ rescue ladder is a compact, easy to install re-board ladder for emergencies or bathing. The 5-step webbing ladder deploys by pulling the cord, which easily allows the ladder to drop down. It features a thermo composite EVA foam moulded protective cover and is compact solution for a variety of situations. All steps are rigid and the bottom steps are weighted so that the ladder will easily fall out of the protective cover, making climbing back much easier.
The ladder is attached to the railing using Velcro fasteners.

Impossible to climb

Installed on the stern pulpit, then asked the kids to climb. No go. The ladder steps move under the hull and you'd need to be an astute professional climber to succeed, only to find you are missing a step at the top and the sides are too narrow to grab onto. I moved it to the middle of the yacht and I managed, barely, up the steps by grabbing the deck as a final step. My kids couldn't make it, so you need to be fit and at least 170cm tall. Clearly not a good product, unless it's just a tick box exercise.

Vielen Dank für dein ausführliches Feedback. Es tut uns leid zu hören, dass du mit dem G-Nautics Produkt nicht zufrieden bist – das bedauern wir sehr.
Wir möchten dir jedoch eine kurze Erläuterung zur vorgesehenen Anwendung dieses Produkts geben. Die Leiter, die du getestet hast, ist als Rettungsleiter (Rescue Ladder) konzipiert, also für Notfallsituationen gedacht – beispielsweise wenn jemand über Bord geht. In einem solchen Fall zieht man am sichtbaren Bändchen, wodurch die Leiter aus der Tasche fällt. Dank der am unteren Ende angebrachten Bleikette sinkt sie schnell ab und hängt senkrecht am Boot – so wird das Zurückklettern an Bord möglich.

Die Leiter ist nicht als feste Bade- oder Freizeitleiter gedacht – insbesondere nicht für Kinder, die regelmäßig aus dem Wasser an Bord klettern möchten. Dafür empfehlen wir eine feste, starre Badeleiter, die für diesen Zweck besser geeignet ist.

Die empfohlene Position am Heck des Bootes ist bewusst gewählt, um im Falle eines Überbordgehens eine bessere Chance zu haben, das Bändchen zu erreichen, wenn das Boot noch Fahrt hat.
