I use this primer as 3rd layer for permanent rust preservation of older cars. Has proven to be excellent. Unlike the products from the automotive sector. The 1st and 2nd layers are BOB rust sealant and BOB primer. After that is almost forever rest before further corrosion. Topcoating with all paint types, as usual in the automotive sector, possible.

Product details

The high-quality, two-component epoxy primer is suitable for below and above the waterline. On rigid substates, it forms a good barrier against ingress of water vapour, on GRP for osmosis prevention and repair, on metals for corrosion protection. It can be processes also on plywood and hardwood. LIGHT PRIMER is a very good primer for topcoats and antifouling. 8.2 m²/l, thinner: 845.

Great thing.

I used my paint on a steel ship in the underwater area and I'm impressed. It's easy to work with. Works well with a pile roller, but trying a foam roller for a smoother surface might not be a bad idea. Next, you have to remember that my steel surface has a layer of zinc as the first layer, which wasn't completely removed when sanding. A subsequent ammonia wetting agent wash should prepare the surface for the subsequent primer. There are of course no long-term tests yet. Processing time, alone, in a 2.25l container, with a 10cm pile roller, at around 25 degrees, is labor-intensive. It sets harder. In my opinion, the appropriate thinner should definitely be used. I'm happy with the product so far.
