It needs more power.
Good product, although it's lacking. It needs a bit more power and battery life.

Cheap but unfortunately not stable.
Extremely inexpensive compared to similar devices on the market. Unfortunately, the plastic housing is in need of significant improvement, especially the mounting points for the motor and gear box break before the overload protection kicks in. So be careful with heavy loads, it's better to use a normal winch handle for the last few centimeters.

INTERESTING PRODUCT BUT WITH POOR GRIP ERGONOMICS
A LARGER LEVER ARM WOULD BE REQUIRED TO MANUALLY LOCK THE ROTATION OF THE CRANK

Oh well
We had a different electric winch handle before and the old one was better for women's hands. It does its job, there's no question about that. But I would rather buy a different one again.

12 volt recharge
It lacks a power cord on 12 volts socket, automotive type, to recharge while sailing. Sincerely, Jean-Claude TAILLANDIER tel 06 75 08 52 48

Third time lucky?
The WinchRite is a marvelous piece of equipment on board, especially to hoist a heavy main sail. At least, if you have one that never fails. But they do fail. The first one lasted for one and a half season before the electronics died, the second sailed before the gearbox ... SVB was so kind to take it back manufacturer, which took five weeks to decide it should be replaced by a new one. That one eventually ended up in Bulgaria instead of Belgium by SVB mistyping the zip code (BG instead of BE), but finally with the destination another two weeks later. So far number three survived already 1 sailing trip since. Third time lucky? ;-)

Everything as expected, fast delivery, gladly again
I tried the Winchrite on my short break. I am a little disappointed with the performance of the drive. At first I wanted to give her back immediately, but at last she is after getting used to a help. I also feel annoying the caster after releasing the switch. The battery capacity seems to be enough for a normal sailing day. I hope she will confirm her existence in a positive way.

The Winchrite is a super powerful engine that I use on my boat as an auxiliary engine to the mainsail. Especially when hitting it easily pulls up the sail with the Reffleinen. But be careful! The engine has no slip clutch and continues to mercilessly, if you do not stop in time to press the start button. As a result, it can also lead to injuries, eg twisting arm or similar! If you take that into consideration it is a great help. The advantage of this engine is that you can use it for all winches, for example. also to pull a person to the masthead or the like.

does not keep its promises
So I'm not satisfied with the product. At a slightly higher load, the device switches off with an acknowledgment tone. And for that I have the Winchrite attached. In heavy weather it is not able to pull the big sail in the mast with my 37ft ship. One must also be careful when pulling the W. from the winch, one quickly loosens the nut and then lands in the winch. It is painstaking to recover these. Would not buy the device again.

Don't expect too much. 10m boat and broken crank after 4 years of non-intensive use.
Quality too light for a price still consequent.

Too weak
The winch handle may be fine for smaller boats. I have a 44 foot catamaran and for the pressure I have on the Genoa the crank is way too weak. A bad investment!

This winch does not have the required pulling force to put a mainsail on a 42 ft sailor, let alone to put our genoa through. I promised myself much more. B.Rohde

heavy, cumbersome
For me the thing is too heavy and too complicated. By the time I put it on the winch, if I want to go quickly, I've already cranked it a long way by hand. Holding back torque requires a lot of force. In my case a bad buy.
SVB delivered promptly, no complaints here.

The worst thing I have ever bought.
The bolt rotates under load. Extremely slow, not suitable for 39 ft defensively. Is well below the level of SVB
