You can't get the nut off the gear ring without a vise. Important information, I think!

Sea water pump MD2040

After the drive pinion had been removed from the old pump shaft and screwed onto the new shaft, the pump was very easy to install. The new pump does not have to be opened for this! Tighten 4 screws with a 12 ring spanner and the pump is fixed! Tighten the hose clamps and the engine will run again. That shouldn't be a problem for a screwdriver. Finally spray over with Volvo-Penta Green and the pump looks like it was always there. I will write how the pump ultimately proves itself in operation.

Good pump

The pump was necessary because the previous one was leaking on the water side of the shaft after less than 2 years and was also making a whistling noise. The old pump is now being repaired under warranty at SVB.
The inlet nozzle is unfortunately one centimeter too short to attach 2 hose clamps, which would be necessary for safety reasons. It would also be nice if the seal for the motor was included.
In the next few days I will order 2 replacement seals for the pump, which are available here at SVB.
That's why it only gives 4 points.

Still room for improvement

The pump is not an original part, but the price is significantly lower!
The overall length is shorter, very close to the regulator housing, you get a hose
and clamp just up.
The hose connection pieces are shorter, you cannot mount 2 clamps!
The safeguards against slipping of the hose are too weak,
It looked better in the video. I re-shot it, material is sufficient.
In the video the pump was greased during assembly, my copy was just
wet, probably from the leak test.
There. Only 1 clamp can be mounted, I have a more stable joint clamp 25-29mm
installed and secured with a cable tie!

Does what it's supposed to, but...

the pump is bigger than the original. Which is not so wild at first, but the replacement impellers that were still on board will not fit. The connections of the pump are kept quite short. I'm more concerned with safety, but putting two hose clamps on is rather difficult. All in all the pump looks like it has had only the bare necessities done.....if I didn't need it badly I probably would have sent it back.
