SVB unfortunately didn't make this clear in the description – because, for me, halyard shackles are precisely those that can be released without having to worry in rough seas that the bolt might slip out of your hand and fall overboard.

Therefore, I cannot recommend this product.

The shackle is spliced into the halyard, and the halyard is secured in the mast. Now I'm just waiting to see when I can replace the bolt for the first time this season... SVB checked – thank you for that – but there's no solution – I chose the wrong shackle.
