Can the charger charge 3 different batteries ? for example 2 AGM batteries and a LiFeSO4 battery ? if YES, can the batteries have different capacities but in total not to exceed 300Ah -for Cristec charger type 12V-25Ah ?
Hello Costin, this device has several charging outputs, but no separate charging characteristics per output (all receive the same voltage). So charging AGM und Lifepo4 Batteries in a mixed setup is not ideal. The specified battery capacity is only a recommendation, as larger capacities require longer charging times. LIFE PO4 batteries have 3 x major advantages : • Lightweight gain / smaller dimensions • Greater autonomy thanks deep discharge rate (90%) • Fast charging with a suitable charging current It is generally recommended by LIFE PO4 battery manufacturers to size up the charger ideally at C/3 (SOE - Safety Operating Envelop), C/5 being the lowest recommendation – C = global LIFE PO4 bank capacity : - i.e. ideally 100A for 300Ah battery bank; 60A minimum If not there is a risk the batteries will be never fully charged and then you reduce lifespan. Usually when a Lithium battery is installed. It takes almost all the power from the source. This is why we often install DC-DC converters on the alternators. Just to limit the current downstream the isolator in the Lithium Battery branch. Depending on the lithium bank I would recommend to put 1 YPOWER available for the Lithium bank.
