Good quality mooring line and Gleistein splicing book. Nicely finished with leather sheathing to the spliced eye. I replaced all my old dock lines with these and am very pleased with them. Also purchased the Gleistein splicing book. Its an I nformative book, but illustrations are black and white sketches only. Colour photos would have been clearer.

Product details

This high-quality mooring line is made out of highly flexible Dock-Flex rope. The 60 cm spliced eye is covered with a genuine leather sheath. The open end is cleanly whipped. Colour: titanium with blue marking thread.

Leather is a natural product. Due to the nature of the material, variations in colour and structure are unavoidable.

Number of mooring lines

Ideally, a boat is secured with four mooring lines.
The stern line is attached to the stern of the boat to maintain a constant distance between the boat and the mooring. The bow line serves exactly the same purpose. The two springs prevent the boat from drifting forwards and backwards. The springs are particularly important in waters with high and low tides or in waters with strong currents.



Cleaning ropes
Please note the following when cleaning/washing in the washing machine:

  • Only wash rope in a cotton bag.
  • Wash at a maximum of 30 degrees.
  • Do not use regular detergent (you can find a possible alternative here).
  • Polyamide must not be machine washed.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry the rope.
